Footprints

One of the first things they did in the operating room was take Caden’s footprints. The nurse thought it would be cute to stamp my hands with his feet.

Here is another of Lloyd’s shots. This is my mom getting a look at her new grandson for the first time.

This is one of the first shots of me with my new son at the hospital. My father-in-law, Lloyd took this at around 4:00 am on Saturday morning.
I love the picture. I’ve got my shoulders scrunched up; I think I was afraid of dropping him.

Here I am suited up and ready to go into the operating room. Joanna couldn’t resist taking a picture of me. I’ll bet white suits will be trendy this spring.

It’s about 3 am Saturday morning and Caden is meeting his new grandparents for the first time.
Our parents did great and were camped out in the hospital waiting room from about 8.30 pm to 4.30 am. They were such a huge support. I don’t know if we could have done it without them.

Here is the first picture of our new baby, Caden West. He was born at 1:50 am on Saturday, November 26, 2005 and weighed in at 9 lbs. 9 oz.; 21″ long. He is so big! Look at him on the scales. We think he definitely has Joanna’s eyes and nose, but my build. He didn’t get those shoulders from her!

Joanna and Caden for the first time together. We had been dreaming about this for quite a while.
Joanna was amazing and is my hero. She was so strong and never quit… even after 16 hours.

I thought this was a cool shot of Joanna in the labor room. This was earlier in the evening and she was taking a quick nap.
